Intimacy is when you have a special and unique bond between you and somebody else. Intimacy gives you the sense of closeness and unity. You can share feelings and expose yourself without being afraid that something can happen. Intimacy means affection and caring, people that are intimate share secrets and for them trust is very important. There are three big intimate problems that affect people in general: first there is the fear of change. Many people, are afraid of expressing feelings for somoene just because they think that their partner will change in time. Even good changes can be hard to deal with. When routine and day to day things change, we feel uncomfortable and we always expect something to happen. Change is good, this is what makes us evolve so we should embrace it. Changing some things at the right moment can change the course of your life. Then we have the fear of intimacy.
People with a fear of intimacy may fear being trapped, suffocated or even lose our uniques selves. In a relationship each one should have it`s own strong character and it`s own opinions. The last intimacy problem is the fear of abandonment. Many people have this fear because they don`t want to be alone. Everyone can survive staying alone and lonely, but life with someone else it`s more easier and feels more complete. Having someone by your side gives you more self confidence, security and peace. We all search for that perfect someone., but we should start thinking rationally. There is no perfect and we have to accept one onother as who we are.
Intimacy has become a big issue for those who turn backwards when it comes to life commitment. But we have to look also at the good part. A relationship fills a big hole in your life, and sooner or later we all have to commit and pass over our fears of intimacy or of anything else.
